Branch Collection Guidelines
The brush removal program is a courtesy service that the City of Laredo provides to residents who have no means of hauling the branches to the landfill. Please help us maintain the service by following the program guidelines carefully.

Branch Collection
Branch collection is collected by equipment, so you must make arrangements prior to collection. These appointments are made on a first-come, first-served basis depending on the availability of equipment and work load. To request an appointment, call 311.
Once you have made an appointment, you may set out your branches. The grapple equipment that is used for collection can handle piles up to 6 feet high by 4 feet wide by 5 feet long. Follow these guidelines in placing your pile near the curb.
Place the large pile of brush away from potential obstacles, such as that we leave for big trash can, mailboxes, fences, walls, water meters, telephone connection boxes and parked cars.Avoid placing large piles under low hanging tree limbs or power lines. Since piles are picked up by automated equipment with a long arm, they need to be accessible. Please be aware that changing weather conditions and large volumes sometimes causes delays in the pickup schedule.
The owner is responsible to deliver any pile larger than the dimensions given above directly to the landfill. Remember if you are contracting tree removal services to ask the contractor to take your branches from your property. Also, ask your contractor to give you proof of appropriate disposal at the Landfill. If contractor does not take your pile it is responsibility of the home owner to bring to the Landfill.

According to the City ordinance (Chapter 14-3 Section 6D), heavy accumulation such as brush, glass, broken concrete, ashes, sand, dirt or gravel, automobile frames, dead trees and other bulky, heavy none putrescible materials shall be disposed at the expense of the owner or person controlling the same by a method directed by the City. The method directed by the City is in this case, delivery to the landfill. Code enforcement officers will be conducting visits to those homes that have huge piles sent out by the curb that could be considered safety hazards.
The City of Laredo will continue providing the branch collection service but does ask residents to be patient. Solid Waste Services collects garbage from approximately 55,000 homes. Residents have the option of taking branches to the Landfill at no cost with proof of residency and a valid identification. The landfill is open Monday through Saturday, from 8am to 5pm. PLEASE CALL 796-1098 IF YOU ARE BEING ASKED BY A CITY OF LAREDO EMPLOYEE TO PAY FOR BRANCH COLLECTION SERVICES.
