Billie Bote, our environmentally friendly mascot, and Willie Bote visited some schools in the month of April to promote reduce, reuse, recycle! Thank you Kazen Elementary (UISD), Milton Elementary (LISD), Diaches Elementary (LISD), Freedom Elementary (UISD), Clark Elementary (UISD) Santo Niño Elementary (LISD), and DD Hachar Elementary (LISD) for the warm hospitality. We thank teachers throughout our community for their dedication to our children and our planet. Willie and Billie Bote, the friendly environmental mascots, hope that Laredo residents will treat every day like Earth Day by committing to making small changes each day!

Community Outreach

Our Community Outreach initiative is a program to heighten community understanding by conducting in-school or civic presentations on waste management, and recycling. The program uses several methods to reach out to residents. Methods that we're currently using include the following:

Social Media

Meetings, Presentations, and Special Events
Staff is available to present at meetings, citizen groups, schools and businesses, to educate students and the general public about waste reduction and recycling opportunities. Community Resource
Vehicles For Veterans is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit vehicle donation and recycling program benefiting veterans. Donors can help veterans by donating a car, truck, boat, RV, ATV, or motorcycle, whether the vehicle runs or not.
