Happy Texas Recycles Day!

Texas Recycles Day is an annual, statewide, and public awareness event that was first launched to encourage Texans to start recycling and enhance their recycling efforts at home, school, and the workplace! Texas Recycles Day serves as a model for America Recycles Day, the national event that takes places every year on November 15th. This event creates an opportunity to highlight, promote, and educate on the importance and benefits of recycling.

The City of Laredo Solid Waste Department and Recycling Program commits to hosting a yearly “Laredo Recycles Day Fair” every November, in honor of the state and national event. This year, November of 2020, would’ve been the 15thAnniversary of the Laredo Recycles Day Fair, but due to the pandemic, Recycles Day will be celebrated with our personal actions by actively reducing, reusing, and recycling in our own home, workplace, and school.

As we observe Texas Recycles Day, keep in your hearts the lesson we learn as we recycle. By recycling, we are respecting our environment by conserving natural resources and, ultimately, protecting our ecosystems and wildlife!

Show your environmental stewardship today!

Willie and Billie Bote would like to thank all those students staying busy helping mom and dad taking out the trash and recycling to the curb during this pandemic. Below is a link of a student from Ryan Elementary helping out in taking out the recycling items to the curb.  Thank you!
